YTP: Resilient leader, compassionate innovator
Dr. Yansen TP, M.Si., commonly referred to as YTP, was born in Pa' Upan, Krayan Tengah, North Kalimantan, on January 14, 1960. Growing up, YTP developed a resilient character, tirelessly gathering diverse experiences that shaped him into a compassionate individual driven by a spirit of creativity and innovation.
YTP began his career from humble beginnings as a staff member in the General Bureau of the Governor's Office and the Provincial Parliament Secretariat of East Kalimantan from 1986 to 1993. He served three terms as a sub-district head from 1993 to 2001, followed by roles as the Head of the Civil Registry Office in Bulungan in 2001, Head of the Regional Personnel Agency in Malinau from 2001 to 2002, and Secretary of Malinau from 2002 to 2009. He then became a Special Advisor to the Governor on Political, Government, and Legal Affairs from 2009 to 2010, and on Economic and Financial Affairs in 2010. Ultimately, YTP was entrusted to serve two terms as the Bupati of Malinau from 2011 to 2021, and he is currently the Vice Governor of North Kalimantan.
YTP has now declared his candidacy for Governor of North Kalimantan for the 2024-2029 term. His remarkable career trajectory is a testament to his roots as a teacher’s child from the remote Krayan River region. Through various roles in youth organizations, student associations, and cultural and religious groups, he has cultivated a strong dedication to introducing innovative ideas, including his vision for North Kalimantan as a harmonious home for all ethnicities, encapsulated in the concept “Kaltara Our Home.”
Kaltara Rumah Kita (Kaltara is Our Home)
This vision inspired him to write Kaltara Rumah Kita (Kaltara Our Home) a book that reflects his concern and dedication to fostering a region that believes in its people.
The book serves as a crucial reference for stakeholders and policymakers on how to build a community grounded in trust and inclusivity. "Kaltara Our Home" embodies YTP’s approach to documenting his thoughts and strategies, creating a guide for anyone seeking to contribute to the development of North Kalimantan.
Through this work, he consolidates his ideas into a creative and innovative framework aimed at guiding the future of the youngest province in Indonesia.
